I love cookies made in this way ... melt in your mouth, leaving an unforgettable taste of simple, old-fashioned cakes. You can make these cookies in half an hour and you always have the ingredients at home. Juicy, soft, melt in your mouth!

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 small cups of vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons of melted putter
  • 2 small cups of sugar
  • 400-500 g of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 200 grams of nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet apple jam

  • 7 cups of water
  • 5 cups of sugar
  • 1 lemon

To Make Syrup:

First, prepare the syrup to cool down slightly before pouring over cookies. Mix sugar with water. Bring to boil and let cook for 15 minutes. Cool to lukewarm and add the juice of one lemon.

Prepare the dough:

Whisk the eggs with the sugar. Add the oil and putter, apple jam. Stir together flour, , and nuts. Add flour with baking powder 1/2 cup at a time. Add flour until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Divide dough into 20 pieces, form into balls and press them to make an oval shape. Oil mold with vegetable oil or spray. Dust mold with flour, then tap mold on side to remove any excess flour. Press dough into mold, scraping excess off with a knife so that dough is flush with the edge of the mold. Loosen edges and let dough fall onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until they are golden.
Remove cookies from the oven and pour over cookies and leave it to soak syrup completely.

Enjoy !

Chocolate Coconut Brownies

If you love chocolate brownies, this is going to be your new favorite recipe! Chocolate Coconut Brownies are rich chocolate brownies with light, dense and sweet coconut layer.

Whilst these brownies look utterly gourmet, they are surprisingly easy to assemble. You’ll need to allow a bit of extra time for chilling before you serve, so be sure to plan ahead.

Ingredients :
  • 100g semisweet chocolate
  • 150g butter
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee powder
  • 200g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon dark cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 100g flour

Coconut Filling Ingredients :
  • 340g sweetened condensed milk
  • 200g unsweetened shredded coconut

Chocolate Top Ingredients:
  • 100g whipping cream
  • 120g semisweet chocolate

Preparation :

Preheat oven to 180°C. Butter the sides and bottom of an 20 x 20 cm (8 x 8 inch) baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper.

Melt the chocolate and butter in a medium bowl, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Remove the pan from heat. Add instant coffee, stir in the sugar, then remove the bowl from the pan. Cool slightly.

Incorporate the eggs one at a time into the mixture and whisk until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract then add the flour, salt, cocoa powder, and stir well.

Pour half of the brownie batter in the bottom of the prepared pan.

To prepare your filling, in a large bowl stir together the coconut and sweetened condensed milk until combined.
Spread the coconut mixture evenly on top of the brownie batter. Top the coconut mixture with the remaining brownie batter.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs sticking to it.

Prepare the Chocolate Top

Heat the cream in a small saucepan. When the cream just begins to boil at the edges, remove from heat and pour over the chopped chocolate. Let sit one minute, then stir until smooth. Spread it evenly.

Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.

Chicken Fried Rice

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

This recipe is one of the best you can make at your home under 30 minutes. This is such an easy and classic recipe that everyone should give it a try.

  • 3 cups cooked rice,
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • salt, pepper
  • 1/2 cup green beans,
  • 1/2 cup yellow beans
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1-2 carrots, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen peas
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Preparation :

You will need 1 cup of raw rice to make about 3 cups of cooked rice.

After rinsing, cook according to package instruction. Then, once cooked, let it completely cool.

Then cut up boneless skinless chicken thighs, or if you like you can use breasts, into bite sized pieces, season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet on medium high heat and cook the chicken until it’s no longer pink. Set the chicken aside.

Use the same skillet to cook the beans, season with salt and pepper, pour in about 1/4 cup of water, cover the skillet and cook until the green beans are tender. Set them aside as well.

In the same skillet, over medium-high heat, add some oil, and cook the onion, carrots, peas and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes. Once cooked, set them aside. Add one teaspoon of oil into the skillet and scramble the egg. Mix the eggs with the vegetable mix.

Add the chilled rice and chicken. Add some soy sauce on top, and stir the ingredients a couple of times. Cook for about 2 minutes, just until everything gets heated through.

Čupavci – Coconut Chocolate Dessert

Sponge cake soaked in chocolate sauce, then dipped in unsweetened, shredded coconut is one of the most famous homemade sweets. They are called čupavci throughout the entire Balkan region, from Bosnia Herzegovina through Croatia, and in Slovenia.

  • 13 oz white flour (370 grams)
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup white granulated sugar (100 grams)
  • ½ cup milk (120 ml)
  • 5 oz oil (150 ml)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 10.5 oz milk (300 ml)
  • 10.5 oz dark chocolate (280 grams)
  • 5 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 7 oz shredded coconut flour (200 grams)

Heat oven to 180°C. Combine all biscuit ingredients in a bowl and mix with a hand mixer for 1-2 minutes. Biscuit paste should be smooth, and without crumbs.

Pour the mixture in a baking tray covered with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes. Use the toothpick method to see whether your biscuit is finished: take a toothpick and prick it in several places. If the toothpick comes out with crumbs, it needs more baking. If it comes out clean, the biscuit is finished.

Let the sponge cake to rest for half an hour to cool down and then cut it in the same size pieces.

Melt the chocolate with butter, milk and sugar to get a sauce. Stir continuously until ingredients integrate being careful that the chocolate doesn’t burn. Remove from heat.

Dip all sides of the biscuit into chocolate sauce, then roll them in coconut flour. Use an even, fast movement while dipping.

Store in the refrigerator on a plate covered with foil.

Enjoy 😋😋😋

Bosnian Pita ( Pie )

Bosnian meat pie, called ‘burek’, is one of the most popular, traditional dishes served in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Generally, the pie (in Bosnian ‘pita’) is made with homemade phyllo dough, or as in some quicker versions, it can be also made with store-bought phyllo dough. The dough can be filled with either meat, cheese, potato, spinach or pumpkin.

I love pita in all variations. Growing up it was on our table every week as it is Bosnian staple. Pita is a general term for stuffed pastry, but they all have a specific name based on the stuffing.

Ingredients :

  •  2 packages of store-bought phyllo dough
  • 3 eggs
  • 500 g ricotta cheese
  • 200 g butternut squash
  • salt
  • pepper
  • butter and oil

Preparation :

  • Mix the cheese, butternut squash, eggs, salt and pepper together. Set aside.
  • Use a large soufflé or a deep pie dish for this one.
  • Oil the bottom of the pan.
  • Then put 1 sheet of filo dough and cover the bottom.
  • Brush some butter over the filo dough. Repeat this again and then put some filling on.
  • Repeat this until you use all of the filo dough sheets and filling.
  • Top with butter and put into a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-45 minutes.
  • Do check from time to time and brush additional butter on the top.
  • Serve warm
  • Enjoy as a dinner dish with a tomato salad.

Easter Bread

Soft, tender, traditionally eaten at Easter breakfast. It’s the typical Easter sweet bread of my areas. This easy recipe for homemade Easter Bread is worthy of a special occasion. A rich dough yields a memorable bread.

Ingredients :

· 1 tsp. sugar
· 1 cup lukewarm water
· 1 tbsp dry granular yeast
· 3 cups scalded whole milk, lukewarm
· 2 eggs, beaten
· 1 cup sugar
· 2 tablespoon powdered sugar
· 2 tablespoon honey
· ½ cup melted butter
· 1 tsp. salt
· 1 tsp. lemon zest
· 6 cups of sifted flour
· 1/ ground cinnamon

Preparation :

Place the yeast in a small bowl with 1 teaspoon of sugar and a 1/2 cup of water. Stand for 5 minutes until frothy.

In a large bowl, gently mix the flour, yeast, milk, butter, cinnamon, salt, honey, egg, and the zest of a lemon peel together. Knead until the dough no longer sticks to the hand. Cover the bowl of dough with a tea towel, place it in a warm place, free of draft, and let it rise until double in bulk

Shape the dough into a ball. Place a silicon parchment paper on a baking sheet. Place the dough ball onto the baking sheet, cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rise. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.

Do not let the loaves rise longer than necessary, because the loaves will lose their shape.

Preheat the oven to 200℃ (about 400℉)., and bake the bread for 10 minutes. Lower the temperature to 180℃ (350℉) and bake for 30 minutes longer, or until done. To prevent the tops from over browning, you may loosely drape large pieces of aluminum foil over the bread, once the crust is golden.

After baking, brush the top of your Easter bread with liquid butter and use a strainer to dust powdered sugar on top. Let it cool completely, to room temperature, then remove from the pan.

Your Easter bread is ready for Easter breakfast. If well-wrapped, leftovers will keep for 3-4 days.
